Eily’s quilt honours Rats of Tobruk
Nambour Historical Museum gave a huge thank you to Eily Rowen and friends for the fabulous quilt that she had made to honour the members of the 2/15th Battalion and the Rats of Tobruk.
Eily’s father was a member of the battalion and was killed in Tobruk.
The quilt will be proudly displayed in the museum’s Remembrance Room which has recently undergone a revamp with the aid of a Veterans’ Affairs grant.
• We have many great families in our region, and if you have been busy undertaking a big COVID clean-up, we would love to see donated any relevant photos of the area or family histories for our family files at the Museum.
• Museum President Clive Plater has been successful in obtaining a grant to fund a new entry and replacement of railings at the front of the Museum. The sign has been moved to further highlight the amazing historical images that now completely cover the front windows.
• Nambour Historical Museum is open Saturdays 10am to 3pm.
